READING G 2 sa 4-6-2 PACIFIC

Needing stronger power for increasingly heavy trains, the Reading developed its G series Pacifics by expanding the very successful P 7 Atlantic design. The G2 locomotives # 175 to 179 were built by Baldwin in 1926, and a version of it was supplied to the CNJ also. The Eddystone Models will be of
Later appearance, with a clean pilot deck. As an option, the running board valences, and pumps on deck will also be offered.

The Eddystone models will feature can motors, with good lower end operating characteristics. They will
Weigh about a pound, and, with typical Eddystone high output. be able to haul realistic length passenger consists. They will be available in DC and DCC versions, with Soundtrax T'sunami (DC and DCC operation)/ sound system as an option. They will have all the usual Eddystone features, such as a full cab interior with crew, coal tools and lamps on tender, factory painted/decaled, MV Products lenses, broken in 1 hour, and layout tested to assure that they perform as intended. These standard features go beyond what brass imports or even Broadway Limited offer.
Eddystone locomotives are the most realistic steam power available from a manufacturer.

The following options will be available: 1) Choice of road # (no charge) 2) The "modernized" package
$25.00 extra 3) Digitraxx decoded, addressed, $ 40-4) Soundtrax T'sunami DC / DCC system with 1"
speaker $ 140-- 5) Light weathering $ 20.00 6) Heavy weathering $ 40--.

Noteworthy is that OMI imported brass Reading Pacifics are hard to find, cost as much or more than Eddystones, may present additional costs to paint and install DCC. They also fall short of the Eddystone models standards for inclusive detailing and realism, and replacement parts are hard to find or unavailable, unlike Eddystone parts. If you want a Reading Pacific to run and run and run, the choice is clear-you need Eddystones!
