Lackawanna C-12 0-8-0 Heavy Switcher

The newly released Lackawanna C-12 is a thorough reworking of the model first developed for Steamtown ten years ago. It now features Eddystone AS36 drive, for smooth, low speed operation, and optional Dcc .It weighs over a pound, so those all metal drivers can really put out for you. Detailing is even better than before.

These locomotives were built at Scranton shops during the depression from surplus freight Pacifics, whose boilers were shortened. The Commonwealth high speed trucks were kept when the tenders were reworked to " clear vision" style. Their overall appearance is quite striking and pleasing. In both looks and performance these models are head and shoulders above a run of the mill switcher. They never were, and probabily won't ever be offered in brass. They worked at major yards across the DLW, did transfer runs, and in PA, mine runs
