LEHIGH VALLEY M-35 CAMELBACK

M 35s were the LV's most numerous 20th century steam power-113 in all. They served system wide in several roles. They handled main line freights long after the Mikados arrived. They also worked the branches, did mine runs, locals, work trains and switching. Some served till the end of the steam era.

Through the years, modernization, rebuilds and tender swaps led to variety in appearance. Those who order more than one will receive different, appropriate road numbers.

The EDDYSTONE models use a modified Bowser frame, drivers, etc. and a great can motor. Note the prototype Davis counterweights. The locomotives weigh a pound and pull well. The tenders weigh a minimum of four ounces. These locomotives will out pull the other smaller LV steamers that will later be offered. Each model is built one at a time, tested and run in for your convenience. Scale automatic, coil sprung, couplers are at both ends.

Light weathering, choice of two or four sets of flanged drivers, safety chains on the pilot truck, DCC or DCC/sound with a 1 "speaker, and blackened rods are standard options. See the order sheet for complete details.

New options include the commonly used extended cab roof, and power reverse. Many M 35s had the extended roof from the start, and power reverse was applied in later days to many M 35s. Both features are modeled in less than pristine condition, as they weren't new for very long. See photos above of #706, the last M 35 in service (June, 1950), which show both of these options. 705 is the heavily weathered M 35.

The production decaling is in the normal LV aluminum color.

The models' body components are a rugged engineering grade urethane resin to which are added many detail parts. Detailing is sharp, and very thorough. All come with a well done crew, window glazing , brakeman's lanterns and coal tools for in-depth realism. My models are famous for their unsurpassed resemblance to real locomotives at work.
