Lehigh & New England E 12 Camelback

LEHIGH & NEW ENGLAND E 12 CONSOLIDATION CAMELBACK

These are production models, combining Bowser mechanism parts with high quality urethane superstructures, and many add on details. They come RTR/Decorated, and as always, with options.

The E 12s, # 153 and 154 followed the E 13s which were built to coincide with the completing of the Tamaqua extension in the WW 1 period. They served in a full range of freight duties, and lasted until dieselization.

Our model weights a bit over a pound, and pulls very well. It is powered with a can motor in the firebox.

The L&NE E 12 was revised this spring. It is now powered by the excellent Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 drive, specially modified for the application. The contour does not interfere with the E 12 smokebox and the valve gear is converted to proper E 12 Walschaerts. It'' operating characteristics are excellent. The loco now has brake hangers. The superstructure was also revised. It has sharper detailing, and more in depth detailing than before. The tender has room for a decoder, Soundtraxx w/ 1" square speaker is available.

New options include blackened rods, safety chains, and DCC. Light or heavy weathering is also available. All come with crew, and coal tools, and MV Products lenses, working knuckle couplers at both ends. They weigh over a pound, and pull well. Tender weight in excess of 3 oz. for good tracking.

Lots of people just plain love the big, powerful looks of the thing and don't want it lettered L&NE. That's ok and easy to accommodate. Variations in detailing can be made to suit your preferences--- right up to the use of a number of different tenders, and arched cab windows!
