ENGLISH'S MODEL RAILROAD SUPPLY REPOWER JOBS English's Model Railroad Supply is a division of Bowser Manufacturing Company. EMRS offers several repower kits which upgrade Bachmann steam models. The EMRS repower kits include Bowser mechanism parts, and related electrical pick up, etc. parts. Eddystone will do these, or other repower jobs for you if you like. Why would you want such an upgrade? Older Bachmann models were very nicely detailed, but their running gear was not consistent with what today's serious modelers demand. New Bachman models have been nicely upgraded, and you can get them on sale from discount houses from time to time. In any event, it's only with an EMRS upgrade that you will get all metal drivers, a heavy zinc frame and the maximum output available only through Bowser DC 71 or Eddystone AS28, AS36, or GD 28, or GD 36 drives. If EDDYSTONE does the job for you, you will get maximum, well distributed weight as the frosting on the cake. The models will become very rugged and durable. Since all the conversions are for heavy main line power high output and ruggedness are major concerns. If you want serious main line power at minimum cost, pick up one or more old Bachmanns with good bodies at a Train show. Test run it, if it doesn't run, or runs poorly, so much the better, bargain for it. Then get a repower job, and you get the best at minimum price!
